Loading checklist from our yard crew
Ten habits that prevent broken furniture and dented roofs. We walk through them at pickup too.
- Load the heaviest items first, against the front wall of the box.
- Keep 60% of the weight in the front half of the cargo area.
- Stand mattresses and sofas on end along the side walls.
- Strap every 4 feet of load to the E-track or D-rings.
- Fill gaps with soft items so boxes cannot shift on turns.
- Wrap furniture in blankets before it goes up the ramp.
- Put a box of tools, tape and chargers in last, by the door.
- Never carry passengers in the cargo box. It is illegal and unsafe.
- Check the posted clearance before every viaduct and drive-thru.
- Back up with a spotter. Box trucks have no rear window.

No. Every truck we rent, including the 26 ft, is under 26,001 lb GVWR, so a standard class D license is enough.
150 miles per day are included. Extra miles are $0.39 each. Most local Chicago moves use 30 to 60 miles.
Twelve moving blankets and four ratchet straps are free with every truck and cargo van. Utility dollies are $7 per day and appliance dollies $10 per day.
Yes. Daily rates cover 24 hours from pickup, so a 9 am pickup is due back by 9 am the next day.
